Emma Raducanu said that she is „super excited“ to play with her compatriot Andy Murray in the mixed doubles at Wimbledon. She expressed that playing alongside the British tennis legend will be a „once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.“
After a practice session at Wimbledon, Murray mentioned that he had been thinking about playing with Raducanu for years. He was worried that she might not agree with the idea, but when he approached her coach about it, she was immediately onboard.
The British pair will face a challenging task in their first-round match against El Salvador’s Marcelo Arevalo and China’s Zhang Shuai. Arevalo recently won the men’s doubles title at the French Open, while Zhang has also won two Grand Slam doubles titles.
